I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned custom ear-molds. i too went that route and the P-series tips are WAY better!

I don't own the higher-end IEMs like professional musicians, but I have owned several mid-range ones like the Klipsch S4 and Shure SE215. I have used various tips including the Klipsch Ovals and the Shure Olives. But the Comply P series are simply the best tips I have found thus far. They have outstanding seal and actually situate quite deep inside my ear canal. I have an unusually big and long ear canal, so the olives and ovals (the larges) were too short and loose. At the moment, I am using the P series on my Shure SE215 and they are sounding better than ever. I highly recommend this product to any music fanatics out there!

I purchased the Comply P-Series for use with my Etymotic HF3 In Ear Monitors (same as the HF2 & HF5, but for Apple products) after speaking with the good people at Hearing Components. They offer great customer service, which for me is as valuable as the product itself (bravo).
Being new to IEMs, I found the tips that came with my HF3s to be a bit hard on the ear canal and hard to get used to. After giving them an honest chance, I decided I needed something more comfortable, without sacrificing the quality of sound Etymotic provides.
For Etymotic products, (and other IEMs I suppose) it is crucial to get the device seated deeply into the ear canal for a full bodied sound spectrum, especially in the bass and since I am a professional tubist, bass is my favorite place, not that I am a thump happy bass-head.
The P-Series offers exactly what is advertised; maximum isolation. They are longer, sit deeper in the ear canal than their other models. They are also designed and attenuated to bring out the best one's listening device can deliver. Immediately, I noticed a world of difference in comfort and was pleased to be able to wear them straight out of the packaging for a much longer period than the silicone tips with the HF3s.
Most important to me is the sound quality. Some Etymotic's IEMs have been criticized for thin bass response (in particular) and this is hogwash. One has to use them exactly as the directions say or yes, the performance will suffer. The Comply P-Series and my HF3s give me a truly fulfilling listening experience. I want to hear the music I listen to to be clean and honest. I want to hear all I can on a given recording, whatever the genre. This combination allows me to hear what I've been hoping to hear, moving into the world of audiophile grade products, a well balanced, full sonic spectrum of sound from the lowest to the highest pitches with body, depth, and what has actually been recorded. It is such a joy to hear what I have been missing.
I thank you for an ear-tip that offers such comfort and brings out the best my IEMs can offer. It amazes me and I say keep up the fantastic work. Thank you and being a former U.S. Marine, thank you for your important contribution to our armed forces.
Semper Fi,
Don

Seriously. After wasting money on a set of custom molds that did not fit right(even after sending them back) I purchased the Westone UM2's.
They sound great, and combined with the Comply P tips, I have awesome sound and perfect fit.
I am a bass player so I cannot tolerate a seal that is compromised in any way. Since I am also a vocalist, when I open my mouth, I never have to worry that these will lose seal. They are more comfortable that the hard custom molds, and the noise reduction is more than adequate to ensure I am hearing ONLY my mix and not the sound coming off the stage....
With these and a good set of buds(I highly recommend any of the Westone 2 or 3 driver phones), I don't know why anyone would go to the time and expense of having custom mold earphones....
Thanks COMPLY!!!!!!!!

I use these on an in-the-ear pilot headset in a fairly loud airplane when I flight instruct. These foam tips reduce outside noise to a very comfortable level, reducing fatigue, allowing me to hear the student and Air Traffic Control effortlessly.

I have really unusual ears and these are so soft and pliable that they create a perfectly comfortable seal that allows me to wear them for eight hours at a time. I work in a noisy factory and these block out more noise than anything else I've tried.

I am so glad these little gems are available. I cannot tell you how much easier it makes my work as a transcriber. I am in a busy office with a bunch of women. We all get along, but sometimes that can be the problem because we like to chit chat. These earphones cuts all the noise out so it makes those of us who are not chatting at the moment more focused on our work. Thanks for making such an awesome product!
