I ordered what I thought to be replacement foam tips for my Shure 846 headphones. The foam tips that come with the share headphones are not those this firm sold to me. The originals are a deep, black glossy; the ones this firm provided are a dark gray Matte surface. The originals are very comfortable and those provided to me by this firm are moderately less comfortable. I use my earphones for noise cancellation all night as well as three hours each day at the gym. They receive accelerated wear and tear as a result. The replacement foam tips, the less comfortable offer, a soundproofing experience that exceeds the glossy foam tips originally provided with a Shure headphones. I would also add that I have tried many foam tips over the years and although these are not particularly comfortable, they work extremely well. I pair my Shure 846 headphones with a dragonfly cobalt D AC converter for an optimal, audio experience. I highly recommend these tips despite the comfort issue.
These so-called professional tips provided by this firm are extremely uncomfortable, and in fact, painful to wear: the long tubing inside the foam tip jabs at your eardrum, causing instant irritation. I certainly cannot recommend those but again I can recommend the more standard sized , dark gray, Matte material foam tips.
